Battery care guide

A little care.
A longer useful life.

Start with the instructions for your particular battery and charger. Different products have different requirements.

Charging

Use the charger specified for your battery and follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions. If the battery behaves differently from usual, seek advice before continuing to use it.

Storage

Follow your battery manufacturer’s temperature and charge-level guidance, especially when storing it for a long period. Keep the battery and its instructions together so the details are easy to find.

Cleaning & transport

Follow the product manual for removing the battery, cleaning contacts and transporting the bike or tool. Avoid improvising repairs or treatments.

When performance changes

Note what changed, when it happens, and any messages or lights you see. Send Menno the make, model and label photos to discuss whether he can assess it.

End of useful life?

Contact us before bringing in an end-of-life battery to discuss whether we can accept it and what recycling options are available.
